Once again it is summertime “Up North” and the scenic North Shore offers a wide variety of beautiful things to see and do. But that’s not the only reason thousands will flock to the area this summer.
Summer in Lake County is a very exciting time! In June Two Harbors and Silver Bay will be wishing this year’s graduating classes congratulations and success for the future. As they are preparing for their race to adulthood, many will be racing into town to participate in Grandma’s Marathon. For 42 years runners from all over the world have laced up their running shoes to start this race which begins in Two Harbors. Whether you are there to provide support, volunteer, run the full Grandma’s Marathon or participate in many of the activities that the annual Grandma’s Marathon event provides, Two Harbors is a great place to stay.
Heritage days, a celebration of Two Harbors Heritage, as well as all the classes who have successfully graduated from THHS, will soon follow in July. This is an annual four-day event held the first full Thursday through Sunday after the 4th of July. This festival offers a three-day arts/craft show, stage entertainment, a street dance, and two parades with Saturday’s parade being attended by thousands of local citizens and tourists to the area.
Come August we will bid Summer a sad farewell while we take-in all the sights, sounds, and tastes that the Lake County fair has to offer. The Lake County fair will run August 16th through the 19th in Two Harbors, MN.
New visitors and natives alike won’t want to miss all the fun that the North Shore offers in the Summer. Book your room now, vacancies will fill up fast.
