Area snowmobile trails have been in great condition. We do have warm weather coming in for the next couple of days which will affect the trails. Hopefully they’ll be back in good condition early next week.
Below are some photos taken yesterday, Wednesday Feb. 17th, along with the latest DNR trail report.
Trail snow conditions for: C.J. Ramstad/North Shore State Trail
Comment details: (updated February 18, 2016)
The trail has been groomed this week & the entire trail is slated to be groomed again on Friday & Saturday night. There is between a 3-6″ base from Duluth to Finland and between a 5-8″ base from Finland to Grand Marais. The trail is in good condition; these conditions will change due to use & the weather. Please slow down & use caution especially where logging operations are occurring & when meeting a groomer. Please be aware of snow covered brush & branches hanging over the trail and icy areas along the trail. Please remember that it only takes a few sleds to go over a freshly groomed section of trail to make it look like we haven’t been grooming. Warmer temperatures are forecast for the weekend which could interrupt our grooming schedule.
